Please use the 6 week program before starting a phonic program (if not using ICRWY SSP) and especially if it is a Validated DfE Systematic Synthetic phonics programme. 

What happens?

You'll need the ICRWY Code in a Box Kit with extra A3 Coding Posters (1 per child) and the ICRWY Lessons app *  or school version of the app if your education department blocks the ICRWY Lessons app (there are lessons hosted by vimeo) 

Use the online Learning Whisperer training for EY teachers. 

If teaching Reception of Year 1 you can then join the term 1 support group with Miss Emma. This is post training support is free 
During this time you will learn whether your child is at risk of literacy difficulties (eg dyslexia) and what to do about it. You will also understand what EVERY child needs, and know if they are getting it or not. 

When you have the kit you will be invited to a private group (no one can find it or see what we are doing) 2 weeks before Term 1begins. You will create a thread for your class, and add videos and comments on that thread. Please get media releases/ approval. This means that you have a record of their journey, and Miss Emma can monitor their progress and offer personal recommendations and activities. Clips would not be shared outside of the group without prior permission
